So Dr Who did their take on VICTORIANS IN SPAAAAAACE! and on the whole it worked pretty well. Some obvious questions about the back story of the two senior British officers went unanswered, but I suppose you can explain it as records getting lost or assuming a new identity.

Several years ago I promised selenak that I would write a Beatles story. It took a lot longer than I expected. This is a crossover between Doctor Who, Torchwood and the film Help! That was a slightly odd Dr. Who xmas episode - it felt like the Xmas part was grafted onto a story which otherwise had sod all to do with Christmas, and was VERY different to the usual sort of Dr. Who plot. I won't say more to avoid spoilers, but they just REALLY redefined what can exist in the Who universe, and I'm not sure it quite worked for me ( Read more... )

Does this sound like plausible Torchwood equipment circa the 1960s?

[Jack] quickly flashed the Torchwood version of psychic paper, a warrant card printed with a subliminal fractal pattern that triggered obedience and short term memory fuzziness. He took care to cover it before anyone had an epileptic fit.

My most interesting Xmas gift so far has been a copy of The Dalek World, a 1965 annual by Terry Nation and others. I suspect that my niece paid considerably less than they're asking for here ( Read more... )
